ArtBeat is one of our favorite days of the year, when Elk Rapids’ creative community shines.
Local galleries and arts organizations will fill Saturday, June 6, with demonstrations, tours, giveaways, sales and more. Make a day of it! We suggested two tours in the morning, a fun lunch at one of Elk Rapids great restaurants, then two tours in the afternoon. Oh, and then why not a lakeside glass of wine to finish the day? Perfect!
Twisted Fish will have four artist demos, hourly $25 gift certificate giveaways, sale items and treats during ArtBeat 2015 Saturday, June 6.
Mary Guntzviller, shown here teaching a class at Twisted Fish Gallery, will be demonstrating watercolor painting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6. Also demonstrating that day will be watercolor painter Betty Bea Washburn, from 10 a.m. to noon. And potter Tom Krueger will be demonstrating all day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., throwing pots on his wheel.
Gail Hayton, who paints miniatures, also will be demonstrating at Twisted Fish Gallery Saturday June 6, from noon to 4 p.m. This is really a fascinating process to watch!
Stop by between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and see one of our talented artists at work. If you get your card stamped at all four participating places, you’ll be eligible for one of four $100 gift certificates in the grand prize drawing at the end of the day.
This year’s galleries and participates are us, Twisted Fish Gallery, 10443 S. Bayshore Dr.; the Blue Heron Gallery, 131 Ames St.; Mulally’s 128 Studio and Gallery, 128 River St.; and the ArtRapids Walk of Art on South Bayshore Drive.
