Catherine Murphy / Haw Creek Forge

Catherine Murphy / Haw Creek Forge

Equipped with hammers, torches, anvils and stakes, the artisans of Haw Creek Forge handcraft, one by one, each unique piece of our nature inspired “jewelry for the garden.” Working in an historic mill studio on the French Broad River in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, we start with a vision from designer/artist Catherine Murphy. Inspired by the magical, mystical properties of copper and armed with the welding skills from her career as a construction welder, she has created the imaginative and endearing Haw Creek Forge Collection.
Using many of the same tools Catherine’s blacksmithing grandfather would have used in Ireland in the 1800’s, we cut, bend, form, manipulate and combine copper sheet, wire, tubing, paints, and patinas transforming them into fantastic plant forms and creatures, each complete with its own quirky personality. We complete the process with the application of bright weather resistant finishes that stay beautiful in the garden year after year.
Pieces from this popular collection can be found in gardens and garden centers, galleries, flower shows and wild bird stores coast to coast and around the world.
Since 1990, Haw Creek Forge has earned a reputation not only for high quality, imaginative work of art, but also as a community oriented woman owned business contributing to many humanitarian and environmental causes.

Our Sculpture Garden is filled with an array of Catherine Murphy gems. For purchase and delivery options, please contact the Gallery directly. #231 264 0123.
