Sandra Ackerman

Growing up on a farm in a small community on the bank of the Mississippi River gave me a strong connection to the landscape. I began painting as a child alongside my father and later pursued an art education at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis College of Art and Design and eastern Michigan University. Painting has been a lifelong passion and continuous learning experience. My paintings are an homage to the woods, water, and sky that surround and sustain us. My goal is to share with the viewer the awe and inspiration I feel when standing under an evening sky or walking in the woods.
