The work of four west Michigan artists will be exhibited for the first time together in northern Michigan.

From top, the works of James Johnson, Howard Garet, Connie Kunhle and Collin Fry are featured in “4 the Love of Art.”

An free opening reception, with great food and local wine, is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 5, 6-8 p.m. in “The Cottage.” The exhibit runs through Sept. 30.

The artists’ work comprises breath-taking plain air works, still lives, landscapes and cityscapes. Each artist is professionally trained and each has had a full career outside of art. Their individual personalities and approaches to their subjects shine through in their work.
