Plein Air Workshop with Louise Pond

This one day workshop will be a fast paced exploration of painting en Plein Air, making marks, eliminating the unnecessary, telling the most with the least amount of details, all wrapped up with perfect values and a rousing composition and exciting chroma.
*All painting mediums welcomed; pastel preferred.
*Louise’s (approx. 4) favorite pastels and paper provided for exploration.
*Wet medium students must have a basic concept of color mixing.
*Please note, this class will be held outdoors. Dress accordingly with layers, hat, etc.

SUPPLY LIST:
If using pastels, the more the better. Louise purchases pastels through Dick Blick, (Rembrandt 90 half sticks, suggested) and Terry Ludwig’s Best Loved Basic set of 14.
A la carte darks in green, purples & reds in Sennelier.
All students, regardless of medium used, should have a sketchbook & pencils.
- Sturdy, plein air easel
- Kneaded eraser
- Masking Tape
- Baby Wipes
- Masonite board- purchase at Lowe’s or Home Depot approximately 18×18 (they’ll cut for you)
- Used toothbrush
- Small plastic folding table (if you do not have, the gallery can provide)
- Apron or paint shirt
- Hat & sunscreen
