Artist After Hours: Saving Spring Inspiration
March 26, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
In collaboration with Crosshatch and artist Michelle Tock York, we invite you to come and connect with fellow creatives to learn how to make your own notebook for capturing observations as the world wakes up this spring. Michelle will lead a journal making activity based on a simple Japanese notebook design to create a handy tool for collecting your ideas and inspirations for your art.
Michelle Tock York received a BFA in printmaking from the College for Creative Studies (Detroit, MI) and is currently creating art full-time after retiring as an artist and educator from Bloomfield Hills Schools. Her sculptures consist of clay and found objects assemblages based on the collections of cast off treasures and her sketchbook narratives. She also holds a degree in K-12 Art Education from Wayne State University and a MA in Humanities from Central Michigan University.
Crosshatch Center for Art & Ecology envisions communities that are grounded in place: where people connect through stories, music, art, shared work, and food, and where the economy and culture are rooted in restoration of the earth and its people.
