Art Beat is Saturday, June 4

Gardens in JuneJoin us in Elk Rapids Saturday, June 4, for Art Beat, a tour of three galleries, one park and multiple artist demonstrations.

Our day is full at Twisted Fish. Just look at this schedule:

  • 10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Betty Bea Washburn painting watercolors
  • 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Dick Davis making leather wristbands
  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Charles Murphy painting watercolors
  • Noon-3 p.m.: Gail Hayton painting miniatures
  • Noon-3 p.m. Rich Van Beek making wooden and color-rosin pendants and jewelry
  • 1-3 p.m.: William and Margaret White on hand with their “Local Color” exhibit
  • 1-5 p.m. Debra Coburn making fused-glass art

We may even have plein air painters in our garden — who could resist?

We’ll be giving away $25 gift certificates every hour. The three participating galleries will give away one $100 gift certificate at the end of the day. You don’t have to be present to win, but you do have to register, so stop by Saturday, June 4, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., for some Art Beat fun.

Other participating galleries are Mullaly’s, 128 River St., and Blue Heron Gallery, 131 Ames St.

Also participating again in this year’s Art Beat is the Art Rapids Walk of Art Sculpture Park, which is located in the Antrim County Day Park on South Bayshore Drive, just north of the Twisted Fish Gallery. The park features 30 outstanding sculptures, including 10 new ones installed this spring. All of the sculptures are for sale and are presented in naturally wooded scenes along the shore of East Bay. This exciting award-winning sculpture park features the work of sculptors from throughout the Midwest. The park will be open for tours and will participate in the $100 gift certificate drawing at the end of the day.
