Wonderful workshops to while away the winter!

We have all kinds of reasons to come inside and learn something new this winter. Herbalist Sierra Bigham will educate us about herbal remedies to lift our mood and herbal aphrodisiac treats just in time for Valentine’s. Cathy Brown will show us how to make copper and glass bead bracelets. Charles Murphy provides more adventures in acrylic painting and Dani Knoph will enlighten us about Michigan butterflies and watercolor illustration.

Herbs for Mood Elevation & Preventing S.A.D.  Saturday, January 18, from 1-3PM $40

Sierra Bigham of Bear Earth Herbals will educate us on herbs that can help us get through the winter with a healthy, well-nourished mental and emotional outlook. Many folks have heard of taking St. John’s Wort for seasonal depression, but there are so many other herbs that can help bring our minds and nervous systems into balance. Learn simple ways to incorporate these herbs into your daily routines. Participants will have an opportunity to make their own personalized winter tea blend to take home and enjoy.

Viking Knit & Glass Bead Bracelet Workshop Saturday, January 25, from 10AM-3PM  $125 (lunch included)

Jewelry artist, Cathy Brown, will show us how to create a copper wire Viking Knit bracelet combined with glass beads. No prior jewelry making experience is required to take this class. You will learn how to create a viking knit chain and then assemble it into a one-of-a-kind bracelet of your very own! All materials are provided as well as lunch.

Aphrodisiac Herbs & Herbal Cacao Balls Workshop Saturday, February 8, from 3-5PM  $40

Sierra Bigham of Bear Earth Herbals, will help us explore your senses and find new lust for life with aphrodisiac herbs! Illustrating Michigan Butterflies  Saturday, March 28, from 10am – 1pm $60

Learn from local artist and wildlife advocate, Dani Knoph, about Michigan butterflies, and types of native plant species to add to your backyard in the spring to attract caterpillars and butterflies. We’ll discuss butterfly anatomy and ways to make the drawing process easy on the eye. Then we’ll explore the painting process with watercolor. Students will return home with their own Michigan butterfly illustration.
