Take a Line for a Walk

Artist Joan Bonney will be teaching art classes at Twisted Fish Gallery in September. Each class will focus on a different technique.

“Take a Line for a Walk” (the name is inspired by a Paul Klee quote) will be offered Thursday mornings, Sept. 3, 10, 17 and 24, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The cost for each session is $35 and class size is limited, so call 264-0123 today to register. Deadline to sign up is Sept. 1.

The supply list for the class is minimal:

• Strathmore 400 series drawing pad — 10-by-14 or larger
• Drawing pencils: 2B, 4B and 6B
• A kneaded eraser

Bonney hopes to inspire her students “to look around them in a different way, to learn to see creatively and differently,” she said. “It really is about learning to see.”

Bonney’s class is part of Twisted Fish Gallery’s “Art in Motion” series, which also included classes taught by local artists Charles Murphy and Mary Guntzviller.
