Artist Mary Guntzviller will be teaching watercolor painting classes at Twisted Fish Gallery in November.

The classes will be held Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Nov. 5, 12 and 19, and are designed for beginning and intermediate artists. Each class covers a different topic so painters can sign up for one class, two classes or all three. Call 264-0123 to register.

Guntzviller, who has been teaching for more than two decades, brings humor and fun to the class while still sharing tons of knowledge about drawing, shading, colors, perspective and life in general. She taught a series of classes at Twisted Fish in March.

“Mary’s detailed instructions are very helpful,” said student Dorothy McCormick, of Acme. “She does demonstrations, she shows us how to do it.”

Each class costs $35. Classes are held in the Cottage Gallery at Twisted Fish, which features plenty of table space and plenty of inspiring artwork. Some supplies can be purchased ahead of time (list available Supply list for Mary Guntzviller classesby clicking on the image to the left) and Guntzviller will gather other, hard-to-find items into a kit that she will sell for $60. Please reserve a kit when you call to register and look through the list of other supplies to make sure you have them before your class. You will need all the items from both sources.

Guntzviller’s classes are hugely popular, so call 264-0123 to register.

Charles Murphy’s “Adventures in Watercolor” classes continue each Thursday in October. He’ll return to Twisted Fish in January for classes in acrylic painting.
