‘Adventures in Acrylics’ classes with Charles Murphy

The classes will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon and will continue for five Thursdays, through Oct. 13. Students can attend as many classes as they’d like. Each class will cover a different aspect of acrylic painting with a separate exercise demonstrated by Murphy.

Classes taught by Murphy fill up quickly, so call 264-0123 to register. Each class costs $40. A supply list is below.

“Students will explore a wide variety of possibilities using the watercolor medium,” Murphy said. “Special techniques will be highlighted with instructions and examples for integrating them into a painter’s personal style.”

Supply list:

  • Liquid acrylic paint, bottles or tubes
  • Synthetic bristle brushes, rounds and flats
  • Water bucket
  • Color mixing palette
  • Paper towels
  • Spray bottle
  • H8 pencil
  • Bottle of matte or gloss acrylic medium
  • Bottle or jar of acrylic gesso
  • Stretched, primed canvas or painting panels, not to exceed 20″x24″ in size
  • Plastic food wrap
  • Waxed paper
